Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based and practical counseling approach that equips clients with skills to effectively cope with hardship in life. DBT’s goal is to teach clients mindfulness, how to better tolerate distressing events, regulate emotions, and attend to relationships. DBT has great efficacy in treating many mental health struggles, including personality disorders, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, non-suicidal self-injury, suicidal ideation, obsessive compulsive disorder, addiction, and ADHD.
DBT is taught either individually or in group settings. In collaboration with Parts of You Therapy, Jordan Brockhoff offers adolescent and adult DBT groups led by trained DBT therapists. If you are interested in joining a group, please contact Jordan on this website or Crosby at partsofyou.org.

Couples Therapy
Couples therapy at J. Brockhoff Therapy Services utilizes the Gottman Method. Couples will complete a thorough assessment of their relationship through both oral interviews with Jordan and written assessment tools. Goals for therapy are tailored to address areas of growth from the assessment. Jordan will teach specific interventions for couples to use during and outside therapy. Generally, it is recommended couples commit to weekly or bi-weekly sessions with the goal of phasing out to less frequent sessions as couples develop skills to communicate more effectively.
